This dissertation asks, "What if economics in its theoretical as well as practical approach was designed to make it possible for all peoples on this earth to provide for their own basic human needs?" There are about 1.5 billion people out of 6 billion people who survive on less than one dollar per day and it is estimated that 70% of them are women. Feminist economics is a branch on the feminist theory tree that has expanded only in the 1990's. Feminist economists are coming from all sides of economic theory and those scholars are demanding major improvements of their scientific surroundings in regards to equality, rights and development for the poor. Concern for a more justice oriented economics is implicit with the economists in this investigation.
