The main goal of the ATLAS project (2003-2006) is to avoid drop out of people with disabilities from the labour marker caused by lack of social competences. Promoted by Sterk in Werk (Boxtel, Netherlands) partners from 7 different countries worked together on a description of the concept of `social competences¿ and created a list with 62 relevant social skills. In all countries a questionnaire was sent out to employers to get the necessary information on what they see as the most important competences for people to keep and find a job (Place-Train-Maintain approach). An inventory of different test and training methods to use in daily practice was put together and for a period of one year all partners experimented with different methods and techniques.
