The previous Renaissance editions of Henry of Ghent's Summa are treated in prior volumes of this series and elsewhere. The earliest edition, done by Badius in 1520, and the subsequent edition by Hieronymus Scarparius at Ferrara in 1646 were not critical editions. Art 1, qq. 1 & 2 have recently been translated into English by R. Pasnau. This volume is the first critical edition of these articles.
