Troides Helena Linnaeus is a widely distributed species with 27 subspecies. Its distribution extends from northern India eastwards across Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam to China and southwards across Thailand, Malaysia to Indonesia. The easternmost occurrence is on the island of Tukang-Besi, the southernmost on Sumbawa. This species is the western representative of the Helena group.
